Jamie Southey qualifies for OW nationals
We are thrilled to celebrate Jamie Southey, who has achieved a remarkable milestone by qualifying for the National Championships in Open Water Swimming.
Jamie is a dedicated senior swimmer and valued member of the Aqua Dolphin Swimming Club family. Known for his determination and commitment to the sport, Jamie has consistently pushed his boundaries to achieve excellence in swimming.
At the recent Open Water Swimming Championships held at Marina Martinique in Jeffreys Bay, Jamie delivered an outstanding performance in challenging conditions. Competing in the demanding 7.5km event, he not only met but exceeded expectations with an impressive time of 1:40.26 – a remarkable improvement and well under the 1:43.00 qualifying standard.
Despite unfavourable swimming conditions at the NMBA-hosted championship, Jamie remained focused and delivered when it mattered most. The event organizers provided excellent support, creating a positive environment for all competitors.
Jamie now sets his sights on the National Championships, where he will represent both himself and the Aqua Dolphin Swimming Club with pride. His qualification is a testament to the hard work, dedication and support from our coaching staff and fellow club members.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Jamie and look forward to supporting him as he prepares for this exciting next chapter.
Another incredible achievement from our Dolphin’s as Jamie Els has successfully qualified for the SANJ Championships.
Jamie continues to make waves with her exceptional performances in the pool. Her commitment to training and competitive excellence has consistently impressed both coaches and fellow club members.
At the recent CTA Benjamin Button Qualifying Meet, Jamie delivered a standout performance that showcased her racing prowess. In the 400m freestyle, she clocked an impressive time of 5:03.90, securing her qualification for SANJ Champs. Adding to her success at the meet, Jamie also claimed a well-deserved silver medal in the 200m freestyle, demonstrating her versatility across different distances. Her achievement represents months of dedicated training and preparation.
As Jamie prepares for SANJ, she carries with her the support and pride of the entire Aqua Dolphin Swimming Club community. Her achievements inspire younger swimmers and remind us all of what's possible with hard work and dedication.
Here’s to cheering Jamie on as she represents our club at this exciting championship level competition.
